Look at the corbels over the windows, at the detailing on the soffits. We don't bother to build things this way anymore in a small town. Everything is utilitarian—and plastic. -

Here it is—your standard sunset shot. Unfortunately, a power line got in the way. It is almost impossible to get a decent shot like this in the country today without trampling through somebody's field. -

As I was wandering behind the softball field, the back of this scoreboard kept catching my eye, because the sun would sometimes reflect off the back of it, depending on the angle between me and scoreboard. Such moments are fleeting, and you have to move quickly. This shot might have been better if I had been standing on top of a ten-foot ladder. -

This is the shot. It's not your standard sunset shot. I am not a sports photographer by any means, but the addition of the goal post, which both lends a human element and draws us into the picture (it also draws our eyes upward), makes this an effective photograph. -
