I was intrigued by this shot, because all the lines suggested a vanishing point, but didn't show it. I especially liked that the fence on the right picked up where the fence on the left ended. I shot this as a vertical, hoping to capture as much of the fence on the left as possible. - Return to blur

I noticed that applying the gradient map punched up the contrast, which I liked, so I returned to the blurred picture and increased the contrast, which makes it a bit more interesting. - Gradient Map

I then applied a gradient map (Steel Bar) to the picture to reduce it to a black and white image. - Radial Blur

Even though I was the only one on the field, I wanted something to suggest action. I used a radial blur filter (set to 50) in Photoshop to add a bit of drama (and also to get rid of those annoying picnic tables and blue tarps on the right). - Cropped

As it turned out, this worked out better as a panoramic shot, so I cropped it low and wide. - The view from the dugout(S7301555)

A panoramic view looking west. I like that this is not a typical vanishing point exercise, but that the wires come in from above left and the tracks from below right, which throws off the balance. The vanishing point itself is a bit too high; perhaps I should have cropped a bit more off the bottom. I touched it up a bit in PhotoShop to add glow and a bit of blurring around the edges.
