As always, when a building is pressed into a different service than the one it was designed for, strange, clumisily built additions start to appear. - Vicksburg Hospital 3/8

Even in its latter days, it still had some style. Look at the cornices over the windows. - Vicksburg Hospital 4/8

At one point this was a solid, glorious building, but it fell into neglect after the new hospital building was built. People lose interest in their old toy after they get a new one. - Vicksburg Hospital 6/8

I always love finding architectural details like this on old buildings. This one looks like it's weeping. Perhaps it knew what was to come. - Vicksburg Hospital 5/8

Look at the corbels over the windows, at the detailing on the soffits. We don't bother to build things this way anymore in a small town. Everything is utilitarian—and plastic. - Sunset #1

As I was wandering behind the softball field, the back of this scoreboard kept catching my eye, because the sun would sometimes reflect off the back of it, depending on the angle between me and scoreboard. Such moments are fleeting, and you have to move quickly. This shot might have been better if I had been standing on top of a ten-foot ladder. - Sunset #4

This is the shot. It's not your standard sunset shot. I am not a sports photographer by any means, but the addition of the goal post, which both lends a human element and draws us into the picture (it also draws our eyes upward), makes this an effective photograph. - The old showroom
