I have taken a daily (or almost daily) walk for a number of years now. I believe it's good for both your physical and mental well-being. But only recently have I started taking a camera with me.

This is my favorite time of year. The days are getting shorter, the shadows are getting longer, and the light is more dramatic. The weather is cooler, the insects are fewer, and the air has a crispness to it that only happens how. I know most people feel that spring is the season that feels the most full of potential, but for me, that time has always been autumn.

I usually listen to podcasts on my walks, because there's usually a lot of traffic, which I find a very discordant sound. But for the month of October, I have decided to take a camera with me instead.

The point is to notice things. I have always been keen to see the details that other people just glance right over, and this month's project is an opportunity to do just that, without apology. I am also experimenting with a newish camera (a Fuji FP-XP140, to be precise) I bought during the pandemic but have not really learned much about yet.

I will be updating this gallery throughout the month of October and possibly beyond. New images will appear at the end. It's done. I may update tags and descriptions, but I doubt it. On to other things.
