One year, my mother was very sick during the Christmas season and couldn't get out to see how people had decorated their houses, which she really enjoys. I grabbed my camera and tripod and spent three evenings getting and editing these shots. She appreciated it.
I liked this house because I thought it looked like a face smiling back at me in the night. As I clicked the shutter release, a car sped through the shot, leaving two long streaks of red.
I tried it again. This time, no car, no red streaks.
This house seemed especially colorful to me.
I admit it: these decorations are not that spectacular. (They are bright though!) But I was desperate to get at least one more decent shot.
